There are kids born out of poverty that deprives them of a right of being ‘exist’ in official documents aka a vital proof of being “ALIVE”. However, this movie depicts a candid definition of “Alive” from the perspective of “Brutal Poverty” where being alive means to be fed upon sugar and water. A tiny room full of children, a bed full of nightmares, and a worthless life ,amidst all these, someone must choose to “Speak Up” to be Worthy.
Directed by Nadine Labaki, Capernaum (2018) is the most humanitarian movie of the century. Every child on this earth deserves to live a dignified life full of happiness, grace, respect and love. Unfortunately, there are millions of children in the world that are not pleased to be born. Utterly disappointed by their parents, they have been forsaken to encounter the filthy visage of life. The fact, that no professional actors have been hired may come as a sheer surprise to you. The entire cast of the movie comprises of either illegal residents of Lebanon or refugees.
Two of the actors witnessed a 360 degree transformation in their destiny after the release of this movie. The director deserves all the praises to conduct a thorough research before embarking on a journey of delivering a mesmerizing power-packed Movie Content experience that will be etched in the mind of the viewers for forever. This “once-in-a-lifetime” must watch movie puts an end to your quest of a meaningful cinema.
