“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
This impactful quote resonates with the powerful kickboxing aptitude of the Tajamul Islam who managed to win the gold medal at the World Kickboxing Championship in the sub-junior category held in Italy. With the same, she eventually became the first girl from Kashmiri girl to blaze the trail in kickboxing by making India proud.
Defeating 6 rivals back to back from resourceful countries encompassing Australia, China, the USA and more was no less than an overwhelming experience further made memorable with an unforgettable welcome. As far as sponsorship is concerned, the credit goes to none other than the Indian Army. No wonder why Indian Army always takes the lead when it comes to ruling through the roost in compassion and humanity. A native of Tarkpora (Kashmir), her journey From Bandipora academy to the World’s championship has been nothing short of a phenomenal achievement.

Surprisingly kickboxing was not her first preference as she excelled in Taekwondo and Wushu but the moment she discovered her potential and felt inclined towards it, there has been no looking back. Her two sisters and brother are also kickboxers. She aspires to be a Doctor in the Indian Army. The child prodigy was first recognized by the prestigious Army Goodwill School. She expresses her heartfelt gratitude towards her father Mr Ghulam Mohammad Lone, her mother and her coaches Faisal Dar and Rawat Sir. They have played an instrumental role in supporting her dreams and aspirations.
At a tender age, Tajamul Islam has already proved her mettle by mastering an art of an ultimate combat sport: Kickboxing. It is her cross-training, her larger-than-life discipline and the way she honours this sport, helped her to carve a distinctive athlete self out of herself. May she achieve countless milestones in her life while continuing to inspire aspirants’ kickboxers.
